چکیده

On the cover: Dynamic change of the localization of FROUNT and CCR5 in CCL4-stimulated cell. Immunofluorescent staining at 20 min after stimulation detects colocalization of FROUNT (red) and CCR5 (green) in both the pseudopodial area and the inner cellular space (colocalization is white). Toda, E., Y. Terashima, T. Sato, K. Hirose, S. Kanegasaki, and K. Matsushima. 2009. FROUNT is a common regulator of CCR2 and CCR5 signaling to control directional migration. J. Ym1/2 promotes Th2 cytokine expression by inhibiting 12/15(S)-lipoxygenase: identification of a novel pathway for regulating allergic inflammation.

The Ym1/2 lectin is expressed abundantly in the allergic mouse lung in an IL-13-dependent manner. However, the role of Ym1/2 in the development of allergic airways disease is largely unknown. In this investigation, we show that treatment of mice with anti-Ym1/2 Ab during induction of allergic airways disease attenuated mediastinal lymph node production of IL-5 and IL-13. Ym1/2 was found to be e...

Leukotriene E4 activates human Th2 cells for exaggerated proinflammatory cytokine production in response to prostaglandin D2.

PGD(2) exerts a number of proinflammatory responses through a high-affinity interaction with chemoattractant receptor-homologous molecule expressed on Th2 cells (CRTH2) and has been detected at high concentrations at sites of allergic inflammation. Because cysteinyl leukotrienes (cysLTs) are also produced during the allergic response, we investigated the possibility that cysLTs may modulate the...

Background and aim: Multiple sclerosis is one of the most common autoimmune inflammatory diseases in young ages. Many aspects of this disease are still unknown. The aim of the present study was to investigate the expression and activity level of 15-lipoxygenase-1 (a producer of lipid peroxide and regulating inflammation and immune responses) in peripheral blood mononuclear cells in patients wit...

The effects of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells on ovalbumin-induced allergic asthma and cytokine responses in mice

Objective(s): Allergic Asthma is an inflammatory disease of the lungs that is characterized by increased infiltration of leukocytes into the airways, limiting the respiratory function. Studies suggest that a defective general regulatory system against inflammation could be a significant factor in allergic asthma. It has been shown that Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have a cellular immunosuppres...

12/15-Lipoxygenase Is an Interleukin-13 and Interferon-γ Counterregulated-Mediator of Allergic Airway Inflammation

Interleukin-13 and interferon-γ are important effectors of T-helper cells. Interleukin-13 increases expression of the arachidonic acid-metabolizing enzyme, 15-lipoxygenase-1, in a variety of cell types. 15-lipoxygenase-1 is dramatically elevated in the airways of subjects with asthma. Studies in animals indicate that 15-lipoxygenase-1 contributes to the development of allergic airway inflammati...
